Remove rear view mirror

Does any one know how to remove the rear view mirror on a 2004 F250 XLT. I can't see how it is removed. I don't want to crack my windshield.

On a 2002 the manual says:

"With the mirror rotated to the vertical, pull downward until the mirror releases"

I dont know if a 2004 is the same or not. And I have not tried this on my truck, just passing on the info in the manual.

Just pull down hard on it, you should see the clip start to spread off the bracket - try to pull down close to the part that attatches to the bracket so you dont pull the mirror apart. Then you have to push down hard to re-attach it until it clicks back on the bracket otherwise it will rattle around.

Thanks; That did the trick. I was afraid to pull down to hard.
