Bad version on Edge tuner?

I have just ordered my Edge Evolution Tuner for my 2006 F-150 5.4L
People have been telling me not to update the version of the tuner as soon as I get it. I think it is version 15a? I have been told that I will see a dramatic loss of power rather than just leaving as is. What should I do? And how do I know that this version isnt already installed from the factory? I know this is probably a stupid question but any help from you guys would be appreciated.

If you want to know the version you are running, turn the key on in your truck push the menu button then go to Diagnostics at the bottom you will see Version Info. (Bring something to write with)
As for the bad Version, If it exist they will surely correct it quickly. I wouldn't worry too much. If you like the way your truck is running now, you can always push YES to CUSTOM and write down everything. Hope this helps. I like setting 2-tow. Still with 93 Octane. Shifts better.

I almost forgot I check my EDGE regularly for updates. It is a new product and appears they are still writing software. On my last Update I received to new Display capabilities Instant MPG and Average MPG. COOL . My suggestion if you plan to be completly satisfied with your purchase take the time to Custom Tune. Then the updates will not change the performance characteristics of your vehicle.
