1997 Expedition Help!!! Radio's keep breaking
hello,
I have a 1997 Eddie bauer Expedition with the Mach audio system. Last week my radio died so I got another one and put it in the car and that one zapped out after just a few days. has anyone heard of this happening. On both radio's it turns on (no clock or station display) and is stuck on whatever you had on last. None of the buootons work but you can adjust the volume.
Please help!!!!

....ahhhhhh, and people ask why I bought aftermarket!?....I would ask this in the Audio forums also, you may get a better answer there....anywho, it sounds like something is backfeeding, but with all the hot leads it will take time to trace it.
If you want to take the time, run a seperate hot lead to the radio without connecting anything else and see if your display comes up. Then if you have a spare speaker, attach each lead one at a time to make sure they are functioning. If so, then you know your problem is either in your amps, speakers or hot leads in the umbillical.
But in any case I believe the audio crew would better answer you...
