Reverse Glow Gauges

Can anyone help me in regards of either IndiGlo or Reverse Glow Gauges?

I would love to replace the OEM gauges and replace them with something more stylish - blue glow preferred. I already have the AutoMeter gauges on the pillar, so would like to match the rest of it.

Anybody attempted that project?

Thanks... I found those last night on the net. I just was not sure how much modification is needed in order to have a nice blue glow going... I guess (at least as per Nu Image) it is a fairly easy job to replace the factory gauge panel and replace it with an aftermarket one... just not sure if you have to make mods to the lighting, such as LED's. I remember when I put in my pillar gauges (Autometer Cobalt)... they had to be bridged, as the dash light dimmer would not work with the LED's...

I like the Satin Silver ones... those would look really nice I guess.

Anybody out there already done that task on their own?

Well I just came from my aftermarket shop that has installed all of my aftermarket items. I inquired about having him add the reverse glow gauges to my Ex.

The owner of the store (who has done excellent work on my Ex) advised against me getting the gauges. He stated that although they look good when installed (he has sold and done several) there are significant issues with the gauges sticking while in use due to the thickness of the replacement piece. Also there are issues with the adhesive of the replacement gauges themselves.

Basically he firmly advised me to stay away from the aftermarket gauges.

I would definitely like to hear other opinions.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and concerns... maybe I should just stay away from it alltogether...

Now here's another thought... Could you replace just the gauge cluster bulbs (I know you would have to disassemble the dash) with like colored LED bulbs?

Don't know if that would work and give the desired look????

We actually talked about this while I was at the shop. The shop owner seems to think it is a viable option. But to get the color you want you would have to complement the Excursion gauge "lens" (mine is green) to create the new color. So for example a blue bulb behind a green gauge "lens" would make the gauges glow a cyan color.

It should work that way.
