7.3 retrofit
Has anyone retrofitted a 7.3L power stroke into the 73-79 chassis? Are there aftermarket install kits available? Is this even a feasible idea? I'm a mechanic by trade,so I'll be doing the labor myself,and I have access to a well-equipped facility.
Any tips,suggestions,etc. greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Also,can anyone tell me the first year a crew cab was offered to the public, and what was the last year the "panel truck" body was produced?

Talk to Brad (bgodkin) hes thinking about this swap into his 80's style 6.9 equipped F-250 he has a wrecked complete running parts truck tho, powerstroke is alot of electronics and is alot of work to complete this swap altho anything can be done if you got the money and time

Hi, Brad is usually on the 80-96 board or the diesel board I know he won't pass up the chance to help anyway he can this is right down his alley just go to the diesel board and post looking for Bgodkin John

this eng is very wide, I looked into this swap. I more than looked into it, I had one ready to go in, i was putting it in A 77 hi-boy with power steering that I had converted to a real power box. the problem I had was the water pump hits the steering box. plus there are very few accesories mounting options. I ended up going 95 injected 460 with an E4OD trans. it work very well with a turbocharger! need any more info , I'll give it. the 80 and up is same frame a powerstroke is already mounted in. that conversion would be bolt in.
