59-60 truck diffrences
it has a llincoln yblock(think a 302 not a 100%sure) transmatic automatic tranny power steering other than those i cant think of any thing else thats special about it. any help would be apreciated
The engine will either be a 292c.ier or a 312c.i.er, (look for a heat exchange pipe that is connected to the exhauste manifolds & crosses around the front of the engine to attach to both manifolds), if it is the Original engine, as the 302c.i.er is a product of the Mid to Late '60s.
I've seen the VIN #'s stamped into the Radiator Support & on the Firewall on the Passenger Side, try there.
The Hood of a '59 has an Cut-Out in the Front where there is a Mesh Screen that has "FORD" letters bolted in place.
The '60 Hood is Slotted on either side of the FORD Hood Badge which has 3 points @ the top of it similar to a Crown, 2 on each Side w/ 1 in the Middle & the Grille is a Rather narrower than the '58s or '59s Grille.

You sound like you are the guy who knows about 57-60 Ford trucks. I just purchased a 1960 Ford F250. It is pretty much all original as much as I can tell. I'm looking to update the brakes to discs and add power steering. Any thoughts? I've already purchased a large bottle of aspirin!

I am looking into this myself for my 1960 F100 (4x4), but they do not list anything for the four wheel drives yet.
Regards

Please create your Gallery so that we may view your "Olde Girl".
Power Steering, I'd stay w/ the original Ram Assist, fore it Bolts right up to Our trucks Steering system & contact John @ John's F-Funhundred in Anaheim, CA. https://www.johnsf100.com/5766shop/index.htm, just tell him I sent you he'll treat you right.
Other dealers have the same kit for varying prices & you still have to supply the P/S Pump & bracket yourself.
Now some will tell you to go w/ the T&@#%a 4x4 P/S system, but the end of your Steering Column has to be Hacked Off & Knuckle has to be Welded on the end of it in order to accept the system properly.
You also loose the use of the Horn Button that came w/ your truck as the orignal shaft is hollow that the H/B wire runs through & it no longer can.
The Steering Column also has to be Re-set in order to work correctly.
I'd also stay w/ the Drum/Drum set-up & have a machinest drill drain-holes in the drums to let the water drain & the shoes dry out more quickly when you've to drive through standing water.
Add a Dual Brake Master Cylinder for safety reasons, '68-'72 Mustang is what I believe has been used successfully.
Then track down a Midland P/B Booster as it was Original equipment option for our trucks, it mounts on the Frame Rail under the Driverside.
I found the Parent Company on the Net easily by just doing a search for Midland Power Brake Booster.
The modern up-dated systems that others here recommend are just detracting from the engine compartment looks & takes Up way to much space inside the compartment & usually has issues w/ encroachment on the inside of the compartment w/ already established components.
I believe we all have @ 1 time or another purchased Asprin for the same reasons, @ least it helps keep the blood thin & flowing freely.

Unbelievable! I know now I've run into the the right web-site. Thanks for all the information. I'll need to digest it and do some looking around for parts. That should develop another round of questions. Unfortunately, this thing they call a job gets in my way of spending more time on what I can see as a growing passion.
I'll try an post some of the pics over the next couple of days.
I also want to thank cbrudi for the referral. Every bit helps!
Have a good day!
Gerald
I say call it a 1959; the '50s sound cooler.

I've never even heard of a 302 Lincoln, let alone seen it listed in any for the FoMoCo Lit.
