How do you r/r a radiator tank

How do you remove and replace a radiator tank without damaging the core?

I want to change the lower tank on my '78 F100.

How do you r/r a radiator tank

if ya really want to try it LOL you will need a torch like the plumers use and a roll of soder.heat the tank at the edges and the old soder will fall out.you will also need a jar of flux a small brush to apply the flux[mite have one in the jar].and a steel wire brush.when all the old soder is out then use the brush to clean the surface and then heat it[you better be fast].then apply the flux then add the tank then add the soder.if you go to the plumers store you should be able to get all this stuff and you will need 2 rubber plugs and a radiator presure tester.the plugs are for the rad hose outlets.

i recomend that you take it to a shop unless your real fast or want a challenge.but by the time you get all the stuff you have spent more than a rad shop repair. good luck either way but now ya know how to do it!
