Inner CV Joint does not seem 'connected'
) and the connecting shaft will move but the inner joint does not move.I have no idea what I did. I don't think I was that rough with anything when I disassembled everything.
At this point, absent of some startling revelation from the board, I will be buttoning it up and taking it to my mechanic and just opening up my checkbook. I am really frustrated.
Any ideas?
Jeff
I guess that means the inner CV joints are gone, and that might have been the source of the noise you had before the whole thing went to heck.
The brand new CV half shafts sell for about $60 each on autopartsgiant.com, and shipping is free. Replacement is very easy, much easier than dropping the differential.
) and took it for a test drive. Still have the same noise when I try to accelerate pretty hard. Sounds like drivetrain related, so I am going with the T-Case is going bad. By the way, when I had the front driveshaft disconnected from the diff, I could turn it about 1/4 turn. Does that seem excessive (I am going to post that in a separate thread!)
i suspect dry or worn front U joints, 100k is really max mileage on them
did you ever find cause of TC leak?
may be driveline vibration from warped DL or worn U joint bearings loosening TC case screws...does it have the aluminum rear driveline upgrade?...
AWD driveline/TC caused FoMOCo major grief and money in warrantee recall claims...poorly balanced original steel dl would shake TC loosening the tinny screws in the titanium case...fluid would drain out...TC would go nuclear...lock up or major fire
