Why Wood?
Why is the rear half of my unibody (the bed) spaced away from the frame with wood and a small square of rubber as opposed to just rubber or square steel stock and a small square of rubber.
Has anyone used anything else?
I'm going to do a frame-off and I'm thinking about using solid aluminum square stock with a small sqare of rubber between the aluminum and the frame.
I am a carpenter by trade and would only use a wood handle hammer for the same reason. Steel handle hammers made my arm hurt.
Now I only want one with a air hose in the handle.

It is White Oak and will last just about forever.
Also look on your core support. Unibodys require longer bolts and with coil springs installed to help with frame flexing. 3/4s of the truck is rigidly bolted and the front has to move a little.
