Boost question

Can our trucks become too dependent on boost? I have an '03 F250 6.0l 4x4 with 3.73's and a 4" straightpipe exhaust. Stock programming right now. While I'm driving down the highway, pretty flat, cruise set at 70mph, my boost is always somewhere around 10psi or so. Is this normal? Outside temp is around 50-60F and EGT's are around 6-900, preturbo.

the 6.0 uses a variable geometry turbo--in essence, the vanes inside the turbo move in relation to how much load there is. The turbo can and will develop 23---30 psi of boost depending on the load.

That's about where I will run, depending on how the wind is blowing....

Ok....cool. Thanks DeesO! I know alot about these engines, but have been running my Hypertech for such a long time that being on stock programming has befuddled me for a few weeks now.
