Mid-Fifty and other vendors have a complete kit for the Toyota PS swap. You need a 79-mid 84 Toyota 4x4 PS box like this:

Ferguson777 (if he's feeling up to it) can e-mail you a copy of the tech article on the swap or I can send it after I get home tonight. It's a pretty easy install, and the cost isn't that bad. The kit is about $249 Bracket, Pitman arm & U-joint. You'll still need hoses plus the cost of the box.

Can do! Are you going to keep your stock steering column?

Read through the tech article and you should have a better idea of what's involved. That will help you ask questions so you end up with what you want.

Do a search for steering column. Most choices are stock, Ididit/Flaming River (GM Based), or a salvaged GM column. I like the 77-81 Chevy Van column (good length, tilt, no key on column).

This is the Set-up that requires you to hack the End of the Steering Column OFF so that that Knuckle you see in the Picture can be attached. The placement in my experience interfers w/ the Header & you loose the Use of your Horn Button on your Steering Wheel.
Contact John @ John's F-Funhundred, https://www.johnsf100.com/5766shop/index.htm, for the Original Type of P/S system that Just bolts right into place w/o Hacking or Cutting or Welding a Bleedin' thing, it was available for our trucks as an Option back in the day & tell him Colonel Flashman sent you.
There are other Companies that Sell the Same product for varying prices, I just find John a lot easier to deal w/.

I happen to have for sale at half price a nearly new alternate ps unit...the bolt on slave cylinder style, which is also sold by many vendors. This enables you to keep your stock steering box and column, etc. since all connections are done down in the tie rod area.

Is the original question for 48 - 52? 52 and newer?
F-1 or F-5 or F-8?
It's all in the details.
Hmmm will the power assist work of an F-5?
