Welcome to FTE davh! What do you mean by reset? When you turn the key to the 'on' position do you see the 'Theft' light flashing? If so, can you try another key?
My 2000 Expedition will not start periodically, whether I try another key or not. The manuel does not give instructions on resetting when this happens other that see your dealer. I have to just wait it out and finally it will start. I was told that the anti-theft has to be reset at Ford but was wondering if someone had had this similar problem and found another cure.
I'm sorry about that. There's noting I know of to do a reset. Do you by chance have a reemost starting system on the vehicle? If so, I've seen their PATS bypass have fits from time to time.
I still have not found the problem of my 2000 Ford Expedition not starting. I have been told it is a PATS anti-theft problem but that is all. It will work perfect for a while then you go to start and it will not turn over. It seems that everything works but the radio and CD player. If you leave the key on and wait for the radio to come back on which could take over an hour then wait a few minutes it seems to reset and will start cranking and start. Has anyone had experience with the transponder ring which reads the vehicles key?
Will the after market cold air intake systems and MAF help hp and mileage on my 2000 Ford 5.4 Expedition? After reading some of the posts changing the exhaust system seems to be a more noticeable change. Thought?
