It would appear that when my serpentine belt exploded a few weeks back, it also hit one of the cooling lines for the trans. From what I can tell, it is one of the two lines on the passenger side, front, near where the battery cable 90's to go to the starter. The leak is not bad. It's seems to be the line with the spring clamp and not the factory fitting. Can I just add a band clamp to it? I can't see any real damage. There was a peice of the belt still attached to the old clamp. Should I replace the lines?
Any similar experiences or ideas/recommendations would be appreciated.
It can't hurt to add a clamp, and see if that takes care of the leak - that's what I would try first. If it would keep leaking, then you'll know you have to go farther.
I was thinking along those lines too. I just changed my oil last week and thought I had spilled some. I saw it was still fresh a few days ago and realized it was tranny fluid.
