Crossmember differences???

Hey, does anyone know if the crossmember used on a 1988 F150 4x2 is different from the one used on a 4x4? I tried to bolt up my tranny (final step in the 4x4 conversion) but the mount doesn't line up on the crossmember, and the mount is too thick even if it did line up right? I'm thinking of just making my own mount out of some poly bushings?
Thanks for the help!

So what about this: Can I just bolt the transfer case adapter directly to the crossmember without using a transmission mount? Would that cause any damage to anything? I know you can buy a solid mount for them, which seems the same as just mounting it straight on, except the height difference.

What do ya'll think? Safe to bolt straight on with no mount?

Thanks

you'd better find a mount. Your whole drivetrain twists when you get on the gas. you need something that will flex. not to mention vibration
