sticking choke
The choke on my 79 351m is sticking badly. I have sprayed everything with carb cleaner and all linkages are free, but that didn't help much. Any ideas? This gets pretty annoying, especially driving around town.

Is it adjustable the little round plastic choke housing or is it riveted to the carb ? If its screwed not riveted you can adjust it their would be the word lean and a arrow pointing the way to "lean" the choke out which will make it open all the way maybe the spring isnt getting warm enough to open it all the way i think there is a heat riser tube or something that goes up there check that maybe it rotted out

Does it have a terminal for a wire on the black coverof the choke? If it does this is an electric assist and these are famous for burning out. You would have a wire running from the alternator to this terminal. Take this off and take an ohmmeter and see if you have continuity from the terminal to the carb body. If not, the element is probably burnt out.
