Bad MPG

I got a 94 f-150 4x4 inline 300. I swear I used to get like 16mpg but now I get like 10. I have no codes thrown and done all the tune up stuff. No change. Truck still has same power, no knocks pings or anything. I have talked to a lot of people and they say their mpg have dropped in all kinds of vehicles. Have they done something to the gas for the winter???? I live in Maine. Ive gon through the entire truck and everything seems in check. I really only noticed a difference in late january when it started to get cold.

All vehicles get reduced fuel economy by a fair margin in winter time ESPECIALLY winters like we have been having (WARM... COOOLD... WARM AGAIN..)

Also I dont like Fuels with tons of winter additives, I mean the more additives they put in, the less HC's the gas has, less power in the end.

Winter sucks.

it depends what gas you use.some regular gas has a higher octane rating than others.i live in new brunswick and buy gas that was refined in quebec. i have a 4.9 and still get 16 to 18 miles to the gallon

Higher octane does not increase fuel economy.
