Since I really dont know if it is the actuators, switches or relay causing my door lock not to operate I am going to replace everything. I have a 2001 f250 7.3 club cab. Can anyone tell me the part nos and the best place to pick up the parts.
Hllon4whls. This is how they are acting; when you hit the lock switch on the drivers door the lock on the drivers side doesnt do anything an the passenger side barely moves and I have to pull it up with my fingers. Sometimes when you hit the switch on the drivers side niether door lock will move. It seems like sometimes I really have to ram the lock button switch to get anything to happen but if it does anything at all it is only the passenger side lock that will barely move. Now lets talk about the switch on the passengers side. When I hit the lock switch on the passenger side the drivers lock once again does not do anything. The lock on the passenger side barely moves. When I take the door side panels off I thougtht if I'm in there I might as well replace both the actuator and switch on both sides (club cab not a 4 door) that way I got that much done.
Sounds more like a switching problem than an actuator. I cant see both actuators acting up. You should get a wiring diagram for the door locks. The ground feeds through the opposite switch. The whole system is grounded when not being acted upon by a finger. This is how the actuators stop immediately in the up or down position.
Strange things have been known to happen, you could throw money at it or troubleshoot it.
I have a 99 Crew cab and I have replaced all 4 of mine. Each one would barely move. Only place i could find them was Ford. The new style is allot better then the original style as they were prone to sticking. I wound up paying about 58.00 a piece for them.
