Front axle swap
I have a mostly 85 ford f250 with the 6.9 diesel. It has the leaf sprung heavy duty paper weight ifs axle. I have a dana 60 axle from a 78 dodge. Which has the same gear ratio as my truck. Problem is the driveshaft is on the passenger side for the dodge and drivers side for the ford. Is there an easy way to make this set up work or would i be better off selling the axle and buying one from a ford truck. The ford has a zf 5 and borg and warner t case. 1345 i think or somthen close to that. Its a heavy duty t case with a synchronized shift between 2hi and 4 hi.
Just buy a Ford axle and save yourself a ton of time and effort.

selll that dodge axle for close to a grand(shouldnt be a problem) and buy a 85-97 ford 60 that will bolt right in, make sure you get the trac bar, trac bar bracket, shocks and steering setup....as well as teh driveshaft(the 60 resuires one thats a bit shorter) unless your lifted
