Curious about how to Upgrade Audiophile in '05 FX4 SCREW? Definetly want to keep HUD. Hate to waste factory sub. Not sure if I can add more power? Change door speakers? Maybe both? How many door speakers? Do they have seperated tweeters?
I'd start with adding new door speakers, then go from there if you aren't satisfied. On my 04 in the fronts there are tweeters, but none in the back doors. You'll only need 4 4x6 speakers or 3x5, they'll both fit.

Not sure of the 4x6 / 3x5 mentioned but I went w/ 5x7-6x8 infinity Kappas front & rear w/ Phoenix Gold MS275 under pass. seat / changed out HU to Pioneer FH-P5000MP & put a 12" Pioneer woofer under the back seat powered by Phoenix Gold 900.1 mono block & ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT
Good luck

Thanks for suggestions. Brad
I have a Lariat with Audiophile 6 disc. MP3 and sub. I changed the front speakers with some good Eclipse's that I have. They didn't sound nearly as good as they have in prior systems. I don't think the head unit has enough power. It doesn't have pre-outs, So I would have to do a line level amp. I would have had to add x-overs to retain the seperate tweeters in the front doors.
Well long story...still long, I decided to just stay with what's there. Doesn't sound bad. Everthing matches kind of equally. I'll save the money 'till I get the serious bug.
