I have a 352 Cleveland and it's weighed at 550 lbs Your inline 6 probably weighs a bit less I'd say about a 750 lb stand would be perfect

When you get an engine stand make sure it has the four wheels. I have seen engines fall over on the kind with three wheels that were rated at 1250 pounds. Just my oppinion. Eric

Heres something I didn't consider when I recently bought an engine stand for my 390. The brackets that came w/ mine to bolt to bellhousing bolt holes...... only two of the brackets that came w/ stand would reach the FE bellhousing holes. The bottom two brackets wouldn't reach anything. The good news was that my buddy works somewhere where a fabricator made me longer ones that work. Now I know you have a 300 but you might get assurances that it has brackets that reach, or find a welding guru to make you custom parts. Also, I have one of each, and I find the one where the wheels at the end of the extended part are separated several inches apart w/ T bar is more stable than the narrower kind w/o T on the extented leg. I'm guessing that since the 6 has same bellpattern as 302 you shouldn't have that problem, because... gee shouldn't an engine stand work w/ a 302???
