temp gage says im hot but im not

hey i need some help with my temp gage on my 300L6 EFI, it dosent go under 3/4 hot and it moves over the red spot which turns on my red engine lite all the time. now ive changed the switch on the upper spout but that didnt do squat to it so im just yea

ok so i got off my lazy butt and looked for a temp gage thread and they said to change the themostat (maybe thats why my heat is gittin colder each day) ALLRIGHTY THEN

go to a radiator shop when the truck is wam and have them use thier laser thermomenter to determine actual temp. This will let you know if your gauge is lying to you or not.

If it is not, you have a cooling problem.

well thing is that when i go to start it up in the cold morning its still 3/4 hot if not more so i know the gag is wrong some where good ider though thax

I had a bad engine grounding strap that caused my gauges to give false readings. Might try checking that.
