Question Speaker opinion

Does anyone have an opinion of what speakers fit well in the door holes, sound good, and aren't ridiculously expensive? Thanks in advance.

Does that fit in the factory hole without cutting? I measured my hole at 5" which is a weird size for purchasing speakers so just curious as to who makes speakers that fit.

6 1/2" will fit. It it's measured to the outside edge of the speaker. I'm using Infinity Kappa series I think. I would go with a two way speaker as a three way is probably over kill for the door. Also Look at the speakers efficiency if you don't have a lot of amp power. Crutchfield.com is a very good site for research.

I like sony explodes(or how ever you spell them), and they put out good clean sound, and even wal mart has them for $50 for a set of 6.5".
At the time when I got mine the 5 1/4 were $50 and that is what I got, wish I would of waited alittle while to get the 6.5" for the same price.

You want cheap huh, go to your local best buy and get a pair of the Dual 6 inchers. Dual is the name of the company, theyr 20 bucks a pair and actually sound pretty dang good. Excellent deal for 20 bucks

I have a pair of 6x9 clarions in my doors(they are set behind the door) and I did not do any cutting to my door. I did drill some holes for the bolts and put some spacers between the metal and the speakers. I do have a 300 watt amp and the only problem that I have is that it rattles the door from the bass but with some weather stripping I can fix that. I also know that it would sound better if the 6x9 sound wouldn't have to go through a 6.5 hole. I got the speakers and amp for free so it was the also the cheapest way too go for me. You should also try the junkyards for speakers. Just go around ripping off door panels till you find a good set. make sure there are no tears and the cone can move freely. You could test them before you buy if you bring your truck to the yard with you

Just to say I wouldn't try junkyard speakers, and if I would just rip off the door panels, I might as well take those, and then sell them and then go buy some speakers.

I put these Infinity speakers in mine with a 45 watt Pioneer deck.

I think they sound really good. Not hard on bass of course, but mids and highs are great.

I did lots of sound deadening in my cab also. Going down the highway with my full exhaust with 2 chamber flowmasters its surprisingly pleasant.
