Transmission question...

ok...I recently tore my transmission and everything to peices ina way and was wondering how do i find out what kind of transmission it is...like AOD or w/e...i dont have the owners manual or anything so im kinda going out on a limb here..thanks for any help!

Read your tranny code from the door label then look it up. Easiest. Or you can count pan bolts.

It's likely either a 4R70, 4R100, or E40D depending on engine.

Thanks alot!..only bad thing is its not the stock door so i no longer have the door label and the counting pan bolts is new to me, thanx again

Counting pan bolts is pretty easy actually, All ya need is fingers, and possibly toes

The tranny code is on a label that is on the door jam, not the door itself.
