Adding Cruise control

My father bought a 94 4x4 Ranger XLT. Now he wants to add cruise control. What is the best (easiest) way to do this? Maybe a boneyard? What parts do I need? Or a aftermarket kit? Thanks in advance.

F1TZ-9A818-A is the part number for Fords Kit, it is obsolete but there shows to be some dealers out there that have it in stock still. list price was $232.00
none in VA. Could get it for you, not sure what the othere dealers would charge me.

aftermarket at autozone, pepboys whatever should run around $100 or so. I put one in my 94 it is by audiovox. They sell them on ebay but watch how much ya bid on them.

This Q comes up from time to time. I have the Ford unit and it seems to work good, it is not an exact replacement for the original but has some of the same major parts. I've had aftermarket ones before, on other rigs, had an ARA once, they went out of business, and when the unit acted up finding parts was impossible. Yeah, you can spend another ~$100 and start over, but that's a pain. At least with Ford you can get parts if you need them plus support. I'd jump on Ed's offer if it was me.
