Electrical Question

re: '93 Aerostar Ext AWD

greetings...
recently i've been having problems with my electrical system

had to change my alternator and battery ... now whenever i start the van in the morning my alternator gauge 'flickers' ... smoothes out [stops flickering] after i press on accelerator to warm up or after van has been running.

what do you think the problem is ... voltage regulator?
what can i do to test what the culprit may be?

all help/input appreciated

check on the under side of belt and see if there is parts of it missing if so it could be slipping as it goes around. Did it do this before you changed the alt?

How did the wires look when you replaced? Coroded? If they are fine, I would say you got a bum alternator. Would not be the first time it has happened.
