A tree attacked my 64 side step and I either have to bump out the old roof or graft in a new one. Do other roofs fit? I think the 60 62 roof look a little different but the cab is the same, Is that correct? Right now a graft would be easier Anyone one out there with a cab thats is rusted out but has a decent roof. I think just the drivers side will do,.
I'm in the Detroit area but willing to drive a bit for a roof.
Joe- I think a roof will be easy to find. You do have a couple of options. 1. Use a 64 and up roof for the factory look or 2. Use a 63 or earlier roof for the smooth top. While you have the roof off you could always "loose" a couple inches.
First of all, let me welcome you to FTE! This is one of the best places to get information!
As for a roof, if a '65 will work, you can have what's left of a '65 cab; it is just south of Baltimore, MD - but you will need to come and get it.
I need to know soon, as the truck - rather what is left of it - is soon to be scrapped.
The only thing left is the frame, two front wheels and a cab with the entire dash cut out.
The bottom half of the cab is rotted out, too.
THere is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING else left. I parted it out.
i think you can drill out the spot welds and the roof should "pop" right off. Ive been contemplating doing a "removable hard top" because my roof is shot too.
