Pink Panther Cartoons

Is anybody on this forum a fan of the Pink Panther cartoons? Me I can't get enough of watching the Pink Panther cartoons, I'm so stoked that they now have the Complete Collection of Pink Panther released on DVD, it sure beats recording all of the episodes on a blank videotape.

I liked the actual movies with Peter Sellers.

Especially the scenes when Inspector Cleuseau came home to his flat and had to find Cato...

(In the middle of a fight)

"The Pheln, Cato - answer the pheln..."

"Yes boss..."

WACK!!!

(End-O)

(Picks up the dropped phone)

"Hello? Speaking-g..."

Peter Sellers raised both Slapstick and Urbanity to a much higher level than it was previously...

He was a master of the "Lampoon"

Sorry, I could never get into that cartoon. No speaking, just weird things happening. Maybe as a kid, I could never get high enough to appreciate it.

I liked the Pink Panther cartoons about as much as I liked the Road Runner cartoons. If I'd seen it a couple of times already, that was plenty.

That said, some of the things Wiley Coyote came up with from the Acme catalog were hilarious. And the couple of times that Wiley went head to head with Bugs were extremely good. I could watch the majority of the old Warner cartoons over and over with out getting tired of them, just not the Road Runner and although they were not WB cartoons, same goes for the Pink Panther ones.

sorry Dar, just can't share your enthusiasm

Hey, Does that DVD of Pink Panther Cartoons have the "Ant and the Aardvark"?

I liked those almost as much as the Pink Panther. The aardvark sounded like Jackie Mason.

"Hey! Littleant!"

Those craked me up.

I thought the aardvark sounded like Jackie Mason too. But it was a guy named John Byner. He did a lot of voices and had some character actor parts on shows like Married With Children and Dharma and Greg. I best remember him on a variety show in the '80s called Bizarre. That was the show that launched Super Dave Osborn.

Yeah, Showtime's Bizarre. Cablevision show when Cable was just starting out.

I remember John Byner. He was a really good Impressionist/Mimic. He and Richard Little seemed to be the best imitators in the business back then.

I have heard comments about the aardvark sounding alot like Jackie Mason, I had no idea that John Byner appeared on character actor parts on shows like Dharma and Greg and Married With Children.

I remember you Greywolf, I've only seen one Pink Panther movie and I forgot the name of it, it came out in 1976, that's about all I can remember.

There were some speaking parts on the very early episodes, Pink Panther had a couple speaking roles in the very early episodes.

Of the Pink Panther episodes I like the ones from 1964-71 the best, they only released 3 episodes from 1972-74 and some of the episodes from 1975-80 were a hit and miss, they had some good ones, some decent ones and some of the awful ones.

I love the Pink Panther occasionally. To me the gags with no dialogue is neat in a way.

Oh yeah, the Peter Sellers movies are great fun as well.
