Actually Dutch it was *DUEL* meaning *Guy in truck after Guy in Car*.
I watched that movie at last 3 times hoping to see something new and exciting to figure out of it was that good or that bad a movie.
Well, I haven't seen it now for decades
I used to to hear "I coming Mr. Dillion" from my friends all the time when I entered a room or showed up some where. I assume it was because we share the same name.
I remember him in "Gunsmoke" and "Duel" myself. How come they don't show the old Gunsmokes with Dennis in them?
Was Duel the one where he was being tormented by the guy in the truck? The trucker would try to run him off the road and when he'd let the truck pass him, it would slow down to a crawl? Weird movie. Still think about it when I'm on the road in the middle of nowhere...
Dennis Weaver, I heard on the radio this evening, was married to the same woman for 63 years! That means they were 18 (or almost 18) when they first got hitched, and never looked back! That's probably the best legacy he could have left us.

Yep, that's the one. Grungy old needle-nose Pete pulling a tanker. Dennis Weaver in a Plymouth Valiant. Was this the truck you were thinking of.....?
It was a back up truck created for the movie, a fellow ATHS member from St.Louis bought it. If your interested in the surviving truck or other DUEL facts, check out this link...http://www.stlouisdumptrucks.com/Duel/DuelPage1.html Even though it's not the greatest movie, I still enjoy watching it. And ran out to the store the the day that the DVD came out!
Here's one of my favorite Weaver lines from the movie..... http://members.tripod.com/~webzapper/soupedupdiesel.wav
Rest in peace Mr. Weaver.
Duel was a great movie. It had me on edge with Dennis trying to get away from that truck, and the truck never giving up trying to get Dennis. It had a great ending.
