6.0 update-strong @ 34K
With all of the horror stories about moded trucks breaking and the dealer refusing to fix them, thought I’d tell a good one.
Before I get grief over expecting the dealer to fix something I broke, both myself before going in, and the tech decided it wasn’t anything I did to cause any of the parts to fail.
The truck (04 SC SB with 03 build 6.0, TS tranny) now has almost 34 k on it, and running strong as ever. Currently running SCMT, strait 4” pipe, aFe stage II intake, autolight EGT and boost gauges, and snow water/meth injection stage II. BDS 4” lift and 35s. At about 20K, started having turbo lag/over boost problems. Continued to work with the dealer tech (great guy, we discuss mods I do to my truck before I put them on), and at the time he recommended just dealing with it b/c the turbos they were getting from ford at the time were crap. At 30k he replaced my turbo and EGR valve. Changed the oil too. At 31k, lost an injector, and a vacuum pump at 31.5k. The dealer replaced both of them (the pump the tech did over his lunch). I’m thinking about switching out the SCMT with the new EDGE Platinum, b/c I can monitor everything (I like the idea of an LCD that I can monitor anything going on with the truck). I would also like to keep the fueled rev limiter at most to 3800 RPM. Does anyone have any field reports the this EDGE?
