I have grown to love my 98 f150 4x4, and after use as a farm and construction truck for 104,000 miles, I would like to treat her to a little massaging. What mods work best? Replace gearing? cams (how much will work with efi?), of course head work (how does the efi react?) , and exhaust?
continue searching thru this forum, there's good info here. Also, I believe some install a carbed head onto their efi block to gain compression, but search this forum for that too. Good luck.
I have read many of the threads on this site, but I want to know what would give more bang for the buck, I am leaning towards a gear swap to 3.73's from 3.08's but how picky is the computer with the cam and head work?

Reason: incomplete thought
A 600h.p. fogger nitrous system should bring her alive.
Actually, I've been doing some thinking. This motor has been out since what, 1965? and there's still no turbo kit for it.
AK miller has turbo kits for the 300.
I watch Ebay to see if one will ever pop up.
From what I've read, stricter emissions killed his endeavours. There are supposedly a few kits floating around out there and I've seen pics of his kit.

The items above are of no help at all, particularly the spacer. The other three will give it a different sound and better response, but are of no help to actual power output especially considering the investment required. You're talking about spending $600-700 for less than 5 hp.
