1st time out!

Greetings from the great NW. I'm out in OR and just cutting my teeth on this forum. I recently got my '03 Ranger and am trying to figure out why a BIG Ford dealership doesn't have the parts to repair the rear brakes on a 39,000 mile truck? It's been there for a week and they still don't know when it will be done.
Is this just a fluke or do dealers have to send to NAPA on the right coast to get parts? Everthing but the wheel cyls. need to be replaced. The truck was sold with a "gold seal" check off that every system was in "good" running condition, only to find out when I got home to my slanted driveway the E-brake didn't hold
and when I planted the pedel to the metal they wouldn't release.
So if any body out there has any feedback to share I would love to hear from you.
Thanx,
Webfoot XLT
