On my 76 im having trouble with the heat, right now when you switch the fan switch it does nothing, and if you hook the heater motor up directly to the battery it still dont work, my first thought was yea the motor is bad, so I get a new one and hook it up and turn the switch it still does not work, I hook the new one up to the battery and it works, so could the heater motor and switch go bad at the same time or is it a wiring prob somewhere, also where the little i think 4 prong switch on the big black box under the dash it kinda stays hot around where it hooks up. Thanks for the help. Ryan
There is no a/c. Im guessing its with the whole heating system, I dont really know. I think I will go out and try to get a new switch and see what happens, or go do the power check, first off tell me how to? Thanks
Get a Multi-meter or test light and disconnect the connector on the heater.
With key on turn the heater switch to each setting one at a time and with test light or meter hooked up to ground test each contact on the connector to see which ones have power to them. in which switch position
You could have a blown resistor but the High Setting should still have worked.
