Out fo the blue, I go to start my 96-5.0 and it started to turn, then clicked. After that, only click. It's not the battery. I need to know if I should take out the starter and head to Auto Zone. Could it be the relay(?) on the inner fender that leads to the starter ? Starter solenoid ?

More than likely it is your spade connector, just trim about 1 inch of wire off and crimp on a new one.
is the spade terminal on the starter because once in while my truck will just click once instead of turn over. only does it once then on second try always turns over.

Yes the spade terminal is down on the starter solenoid on the starter, like on a GM starter. Ford just has a relay up the fender now where the solenoid used to be.

I have heard that Ford has a fix for the spade terminal but I do not know what it is. The spade terminal is right under the exhaust manifold and gets a lot of heat.
my '96 5.8L had the same problem today, I found on the starter that a wire going into the bendix area from the lug post was fried in half. This wire goes into the brushes that go around the shaft of the starter. Hopefully they make a replacement part that I can get tomorrow instead of having to buy the whole starter.

I am not sure what you are saying unless you are using the term starter for solenoid.
There is a wire that comes down from the starter relay that goes to one of the lugs on the starter. from the lug right next to is there is a wire that goes into the starter itself that terminates on a couple electical brushes that are around a shaft inside the starter. this is the wire that burned in half. unfortunately the wire is an exposed braided type wire that is brittle all the way to where it goes into the starter so I can't just crimp on a new spade terminal. I called a mechanic buddy and he said I'll probably have to buy a new starter however I'm going to check the parts store first.
This was probably happening anyway but I washed the salt off my truck and thought I'd hose down the motor too. Got home turned it off. went to restart it and it wouldn't turn over.
