Carb. linkage

I have a 1974 F100 Ranger with a 390 in it, I just bought it and it runs great when I can get it started. The carb is missing some of the linkage or choke I think. It seems to flood it everytime I try to start it. I pull the spark plugs clean them up and the truck will start with a little finnessing of the gas pedal. When I shut it off and try to start it again it wont. Just smell with a strong odor of gas. Does anyone have any pictures of how it should be set up or any suggestions? Like I said just looking at it it looks like something is missing or not hooked up right. Thanks!!
