I have a 1999 Ford F-150 5.4 with 85000miles. I had a remote car starter installed and i have had problem from day one. I have never had any problems with the truck untill then. I have had the car starter looked at three times. The third time they said i would not have any more problems. Well 3 days later my truck dies and wont start. I towed it to a mechanic and he found out it was a 30amp fuse that runs the ingnition and coils. He said it was blown because of the car starter. I towed the truck back to where i had the starter installed and they said that is was my Clock Spring and not their starter. These guys are kinda snakes. Can my Clock Spring blow a ingnition coil fuse?? Doesnt make and sense to me!!! HELP???
None of the systems that use the clockspring run off the fuse for the PCM power relay.
However, the remote starter has to access this power line in order to power up the vehicle. Therefore, there is a fault either in the starter module or there is a wiring fault in its connection.
