9 inch swap

Hi. Im planning on swapping out the 8.8 and putting in a 9 inch from a 78, 79 f150 or Bronco just wondering how bad it could be. I am going to put in 4.56 gears to match the front and a spool. I dont think it could be hard the only things im worried about is the speed cable that goes to the 8.8 and how the driveshaft bolts to the plate on the 8.8. And i was wondering do the brakes and stuff like that swap over to the 9 inch from the 8.8.

its all the same. brakes will be the same, driveshaft should be the same, same spring pad width. what year is your truck? it will bolt right up unless you have a vehicle speed sensor on your rear diff, then it gets hairy.

the break drums are different. but since yours is a 94 the speed sensor is a must. why not put that stuff in your 8.8? a lot less hassle

If you are doing a swap with all this stuff and doing the project why not get a full one ton axle. sterling in the rear and d60 or something in the front?
