Ok, I am getting ready to change the transfer case oil and if I have read everything right I am just to use mercon atf, is that correct? I have quaker state. Anyway I crawl under the expy to check it out and I see how you drain the oil and all but what is the best way to get the new oil back in. What I bought is just in a regular quart oil container. Any suggestions on this.? Thanks Brian. Sorry for all of the questions but I am trying to become a Do-it-yourselfer.
I just read a recent post here that had a great tip: remove the filler plug before you drain the transfercase of oil. That way you know for certain you can refill. Apparently sometimes they get stuck. Also it will likely help to dran faster. Good Luck!
Use a suction pump. You can buy them cheap at WalMart or an auto supply store. I also read that boating supply shops sell a gadget that pumps directly from a one quart bottle. I'm going to check that out myself.
Hi, I'm going to be changing the transfer case oil in my 03 as I have a small leak coming from the case cover gasket/sealant. I see the plug where you add the oil, but where do you drain it from? Do I just pull the darn cover? Thanks
