just installed the magnaflow16614 on my 2005 supercrew shortbed 5.4!!nightmare to install, called magnaflow for some tips, told me they don't guarantee it to fit with stock hitch!needless to say,i made it fit,and it sounds awesome!!!!
remove the spare tire, the two brackets that get installed towards the rear need to be installed backwards, and a small bend applied to them, even then you need someone to hold the pipes in place when tightening to keep them positioned were you want them!hope that helps.hope your going to do this on a lift???
spare tire just clears pipes!!use the lift if possible.real pain in the ***,but well worth it.trucks screams when you wump on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!ps some wires may also need to be pulled away from the pipes on the drivers side.
This is definately not the first fitment issue I have heard with the Magnaflow kits. I run a different manufacturer exclusively. I hope future customers stumble upon this, and other fitment issue threads like it.
Speaking of Magnaflow and fitment problems, I just ordered the magnaflow part #16616, wich is the dual exhaust that exits in front of the passenger rear tire, has anyone heard of any types of problems or even anything good about it?
