Self Test??
I know there is a way to self test your service engine code.. My engine light came on on my trip to Daytona last weekend.. Everything ran fine just looking for the steps to self test through the odometer.. Also so I dont have to pay the dealer $100 to pull the code....

There is no way to self test the PCM through the odometer. You can self test the instrument panel through the odometer, but not the PCM. The PCM is what turns on the light, so running the test on the odometer won't help at all.
You need an OBDII scan tool to do self test on the PCM. There is no way around that.
