I wanted to get some input on what exhaust systems people have installed. I don't want to change the intake (for Warranty issues). Any information you can give would help...Thanks
Ask your local dealer if you are worried about it. I spoke to the mgr at the parts/service dept where I bought my truck and he did not even blink an eye about warranty.
As for brand I went with a 4" MBRP turbo back. Although all I have installed thus far is cat back while I wait for the weekend
I went with the MBRP 4" and kept my CAT...Emissions in our area are pretty strict. I had it installed and that took about an hour and a half. I made sure they didn't SawZaw anything so I could hang on to the stock pieces. One thing I was amazed at with the stock muffler section is how heavy it is. I had it for a couple days before I installed my SuperChips 1805 and could notice a difference in the way the truck ran.
I looked at the Banks and the Magnaflow that the same dealer sold, but just liked the MBRP setup the best. I put a 5" Dual Wall tip on to dress it up a little. I've been very pleased so far and probably sold 5 exhaust from people looking at mine.
If you're concerned about warranty the MBRP or AFE systems are the way to go. They are the only ones that allow the factory cat to stay in the stock location and bolt right on with no mods to it at all. The dealers are pretty receptive if you leave the cat alone etc. Call us if you have any questions on it, we have them all available in aluminized, 409 and 304 stainless and even in duals too!
I was at the local muff shop having my cat welded back on, I asked if he had anyone have warranty issues with aftermarket exhaust, he said yes and that he had some return looking for factory exhaust to put back on. At another muff shop when I having the turbo back exhaust installed, he asked me if I wanted to retain the cat but he would put a straight pipe through it. I declined but did ask why, he said to keep from having warranty problems. Two separate muff shops admitted to POSSIBLE warranty issues regarding aftermarket exhaust. I was having boost issues and was going to do the calibration recall and stopped by a dealer that I have never done business with, I inquired about the recall and he asked me if I had a chip, because they could not recalibrate it with a chip/programmer installed, he also saw my exhaust and gave me a paper that talked about aftermarket engine modifications and it voiding the warranty. I asked him about exhaust voiding warranty, he said yes if it is straight through exhaust(no cat). If your worried about warranty I would get a bolt on exhaust that can be put back on for service. The muff shop likes to cut the exhaust to make it easier to remove, I would definitely make sure they don't cut it.

Which stainless system is closest to stock 304 or 409?
How loud are these straight piped trucks? I have a CC LB and do not like exhaust drone and the truck is really noisy on the freeway as is. I'm looking into some sound dampening material and possibly the hood mat.
Can a 6.0 pass emissions without the cat? Are there 02 sensors, trouble codes or anything that can let ford know if a pipe is run straight through the cat?
