Headers and Gears

Hey,
ive been trying to modify my truck for the past year and a little, and i know of every bolt on performance part there is
Efans
headers
Programmer/tuner
catback exhaust
intake
throttle body
maf
gears
(any others, tell me)
but when it all comes down to it, im going to have to deal with new gears and a header system. My question is, is it really worth it to get the two, because one, i know how hard the installation is (if you did it yourself, then can you describe what you did), and two, its either an expensive part or the installation may be expensive. Also, is it worth it in the powergaining category?

I say gears are worth it. Best bang for buck for increased performance IMO next in line possible tuners/programmers! Id go with gears...headers are a waste in my opinion, plus they always leak! Maybee have headers if your running over 400HP or something. Do a search on here from the 1997-2003 section to this one...bet you find more people that wish they didnt have them now, compared to those who do!

A gear change will offer a noticeable increase in performance, but you will need a tuner to correct the speedo and odometer.

i recently bought gibson stainless steal headers for my f150 05 fx4 for $250 plus S&H on ebay.. ,i didnt get the power gains i was expecting, go with headers unless you get a supercharge kit. i think stock exhaust system do the job.

try to upgrade the fuel inyectors and the fuel pump, also try to change the pulleys for a smaller size to get more power.
