Substitute for Dielectric?

Has anyone ever used vasaline for a dielectric? Or is there a specific product that comes in a larger amount than the "condiment" size at Autozone?

NAPA sells a 1 oz tube for about $6.50

Don't use vaseline, it is not temperature stable.

Advance Auto has 3oz tubes of Permatex (I think they call it Dielectric Tune Up Grease).

Autozone also sells dielectric grease in a canister lasts at least 2 plug changes and thats for messy people

Agree with the above. You can get larger containers of diaelectric grease at just about any parts stores. I have an 8oz. container, with 3/4s left after going through the entire wiring harnesses on two mortorcycles and the engine bay of my F150.

I used to use vasaline 20 yrs ago before hearing of dielectric. Projectsho is right, it melts off pretty easily.
