Question Dual Mass Flywheel?

Does anyone know how to visibly tell the dual mass flywheel and a solid flywheel apart? I'm not sure which one the 92 7.3 I have has on it or if it is the original. I am getting ready to install it in my truck and am going to put a new clutch on it. The parts store said I need to know if it is a dual mass or a solid. Also, is there a preferred brand of water pump to buy or do I just stick to a lifetime Autozone?

Dual mass has springs in the flywheel, rather than in the clutch disc. A solid looks like any other flywheel. Trust me, if you saw the dual mass, you'd be looking at it scratching your head wondering what the ....

FYI .....just recently the shop had a dual mass/ZF in for clutch slip repair.

The problem was found to be mice, yep they built a nest in the bell housing and when started with the clutch of course pushed in. The nesting material spun around and jammed/packed between the fingers on the pressure plate and the PP cover thus causing the clutch to slip. The nesting material caused the fingers to remain in the partially released position....

In sold an 86 F150 to a friend and he took it to his place in the mountains. A couple months and few miles later the clutch began to slip. We drove it back and took it to my mechanic, who said right away it was mice. Sure enough, just what you described, I couldn't believe it!
