This may sound simple to most of you but .... I turn the key and all I get is a rapid clicking sound from under the hood. I've tapped on the starter but does no good this time. It has never given me a problem till now. I've got a 351M in a 78 F250. I need to get it running soon. Any help would do.
Start with the easiest things!
Check battery....attempt to put a bit of a charge in it if you don't have a tester..see if there is any change.
then solenoid,
then starter
if not any of those which are most common, check the ignition switch.
make sure you check those batt cable ends if it has replacement cable ends also check were the cable is bolted to the cable end more than likley you will find the problem there also check battery itself have it load tested
