Super Duty receiver

I was wondering what size receiver came with the 2004 F-250 with the trailer towing package. I just looked at mine and it doesn't say, all it says is 600 tongue weight and 6000 max weight. Seems like I may have gotten short changed on my receiver. thanks

I'll check mine tonight and let you know. I just hook up and go. Never any problems though!

I have an 03 F-250 and the hitch says the same as yours.
600 Tongue, and 6000 towing........without weight distribution. Then it goes to 1500 tongue and 15000 towing.

FWIW, my '04 F250 Supercab 4x4 lwb XL has the towing pkg on it and my reciever is rated for 12,500 max weight. But you also can't just go by the reciever rating alone. You've got to have the proper hitch and ball also. Not something dinky. Get the largest size shank you can for the size ball you will be using. MAKE SURE you TORQUE it to the proper specs. Check the rating of the hitch too. They can break at the welds if overloaded. Also use the proper pin size for locking the hitch-reciever together (the pin is the same size as the hole) You defiently don't want any slop here. Hope theis helps....
