Fit for the road
I have an 86 ranger 4x4 and it has been sitting for about a year. I have started it and drove it around the block a couple of times, but it has been a few months since the last time. I need to get it going again as spring is coming up. I am going to charge the battery and change the oil. the plugs only have about 1000 miles on them. anything I should do with the fuel? Its about a year old maybe a little more. standard trans and 2.9. any suggestions would be cool, thanks!

If the fuel smells okay, then you are probably okay. I would put some fresh in there anyway. If the fuel smells funny then it has degraded and needs to be drained or it may mess up your entire fuel system.
Also, check the brakes and make sure the lines haven't rusted. You might want to make sure the calibers aren't frozen up, too.
