Windsheild cracked !
I got in my 06' F-350 last night after work, about 2,400 miles on it,,got a mile up the road, stopped at a light and noticed a crack in the windshield,,, upper left corner,, 
about a 4" crack across the corner plus one starting down.
Guess I need to call the Dealer,,and make sure they get in a Ford,,with the "SUPER DUTY" words on it in,,,my 95' F-350 had one that cracked, they installed an aftermarket on that one,,,That aint gonna happen this time !

do yerself a favor-take a ballpoint pen,start at the end of the crack-work yer way up to the begining,make sure it doesn't stop,if it does,its impact,if not its stress and warrantable--save yerself the aggravation

I got a pit in mine with only 368 miles on it and it was fixable but that thing is a rock magnet, I've got all these little pits from rocks but not big enough to do anything with so I just wait for it to happen.

My windshield also cracked in the top left corner (at about 3500K). Wish I'd known about the pen trick to determine stress fracture. I didn't even think it might be anything other than a stone chip. Went to the stealer and had it replaced with a Harley-Davidson windshield - only cost me a little more than the SuperDuty (just over $100 difference) and it suits a Harley guy like me better.
Now at 13,000K, I've noticed I'm getting small chips... guess I'll have to hit an Apple Auto Glass and have them repaired before they crack. This thing's a rock magnet..

Had about 10k on mine when i saw the rock hit my windshield and cracked it . Called my ford service rep, he told me would take 3 weeks for windshield and my insurance company wouldnt pay for the upgraded windshield with superdutyon it. Called my insurance company then window company, 8 am they were at my house replaced it with superduty on it oem parts all for free no deductable.
It gets hit all the time it is a magnet but this one hasnt broke yet

FL has always had Zero deductable on your windshield. Not many people know about it though.
Here in Houston, TX you live with the chips and replace it only when the crack goes infront of the driver or it is a ticket (plus you won't pass state inspection another thing FL does not have). Otherwise you would be putting in a new windshield every week. Most of our roads are concrete.

well I tried the pen thing,,,, got nothing,,did'nt stop,,,seems like its cracked on the inside, can feel it,,ouitside is still smooth.

Called the dealer yesterday, they said bring it in,,,Got there the service manager was checking it out, (now it is smooth on the outside),,he's looking at it,,using a pen cap to feel it,,,says it's deffinatly a stone hit,,I say hmm,,I dont feel a thing on the outside,,inside can deffinetly feel it,,stops my knife,,(what I used),, so he checks the inside,,,,says how many miles,,,,I say just turned 2,500 this am,,,,he says,,OK,,we will order a new one,,,we go inside , he says,,call Carlite,, have them get one in, under warranty,,,I bring it in monday 2/27/06 to get it replaced no-charge,,,,phew !
PS I made sure it was going to be a Ford, with the words "SUPER DUTY" on it,,they said yes that is what Carlite is,,I said great and thanks.
