Hybrid Winter (Heating) Operations
I would like to understand the winter operations of the hybrid with respect to heat in the cabin.
For example, it's 10F outside. You want to warm up the cabin and defrost the windows. I'm guessing that you'd go out, turn it on and the engine starts? Do you set the temperature dial to high and the engine will "know" that it's to keep the engine running to circulate the hot coolant? Any enlightenment would be much appreciated. BTW we are not ordering a vehicle with the electric seat heater.
Sorry for the question a dealer would normally answer but we are in Korea.
Thanx,
Rich
We have a Ltd with heated seats. I leave the seat heater on, and the heat on full red (right) with a medium fan. In the colder mornings, I'll run out and start her. Several minutes later I take off. It's still cold, but warms up.
I don't think this HEV warms up quite as fast as normal vehicles. But it's a small price to pay for the other benefits.
