self adjusting brakes?

i have a 68 f 100 w/360, 3 on the tree. did they come with self adjusting front brakes? and if so how do you work them? i was told to drive in reverse then brake... and that it would take a few times. any info would be great. by the way, i just replaced the wheel cylinders, and rubber lines.

yes going in reverse adjusts them. but you have to make sure you set both sides even first and leave them on the loose side so they can function like they should. also maek sure all the parts are free moving inside the drum. about 15' in reverse applying the brakes off and on will set them.

make sure that you use white lithium grease when you put the star wheel adjuster back together, put in on the threads and just work it back and forth so everything is lubed up. this will make is work properly

Yeah, if it's not clean and lubed but all dried out and crusty then it won't adjust.
