7 days back from the shop and it is leaking again...I have had my truck (6.0) in to the dealer 6 times over the last 2 years to fix the stinking oil leaks...Does the Oklahoma lemon law say I can do anything about it or does it say I had to take it in 4 times within the first year? current 37,000 miles, first time it went in 600 miles. Thanks
D. It shall be presumed that a reasonable number of attempts have been undertaken to conform a motor vehicle to the applicable express warranties, if (1) the same nonconformity has been subject to repair four or more times by the manufacturer or its agents or authorized dealers within the express warranty term or during the period of one (1) year following the date of original delivery of the motor vehicle to a consumer, whichever is the earlier date, but such nonconformity continues to exist or (2) the vehicle is out of service by reason of repair for a cumulative total of forty-five (45) or more calendar days during such term or during such period, whichever is the earlier date.
Mine has been in the shop now for 5 weeks with the rear main leak. They don't know how to stop it from leaking! Maybe I should have bought a GMC or Dodge?
You know, it has occurred to me before but I have never brought it up...I have never seen or heard of a rear main failure on these 6.0s.
Doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Just means that I haven't seen it here or at a couple other sites I pop into from time to time.
As we know from Ford_Doctor's site, many "rear main" issues were not rear main issues at all. Poor machining work and controls led to rear main mis-diagnosis for quite some time. In some cases it was assembly lube that would eventually go away, usually in the first 5,000 miles. My non-dropping drip when away before I rolled 4,000 miles.
We have learned over the years that just because the tech replaces something on these engines....well, it doesn't mean they cured the disease and in some cases not even the symptom.
Hope you get your leaks fixed. BTW, is a certified diesel tech working on your trucks?
